The Streets At Melkweg
Almost five years after their last performance in the Netherlands, the legendary group The Streets is back on stage in Melkweg for two back to back headline shows on July 2nd and July 3rd. In the early 2000s they broke through with a mix of hip-hop, garage and rock, led by frontman Mike Skinner's unmistakable British accent and his personal raps. Albums such as "Original Pirate Material" (2002) and "A Grand Don't Come For Free" (2004) established the group as an influential voice in British culture. After their hiatus in 2011, Mike Skinner surprised everyone in 2019 with the announcement that The Streets were back. The mixtape "No One Is Getting Out Of This Live Alive" gave fans a taste of new music, featuring collaborations with Tame Impala, Ms Banks, Donae'o and Idles.
