Documentary: R.A.M - Tedje En De Flikkers

Almost forty-five years ago, the infamous punk band Tedje en de Flikkers (= Dutch derogatory term for homosexuals) was formed in the city of Nijmegen. All members except for Tedje played a part in the gay liberation movement de Rooie Flikker. Tedje en de Flikkers' performances would often degenerate into sex, drugs and noise-orgies. While most punk in the Netherlands was mainly about fun and entertainment, Tedje and de Flikkers had a tough message: “I'm a f*g and if you have anything against that, bring it”. Founded in 1977 and defunct in 1980, the band didn't last long. R.A.M visited the band members years after they went their own way, and reconstructs the illustrious history of the most controversial punk group in the Netherlands. How did they fare after the band? Has the group affected their lives? How do they look back on that period? With melancholy? With pleasure? In shame?

R.A.M is a series of weekly art and culture programs ('Round About Midnight') presented live by Pieter Bouwman and George van Houts. Live conversations are interspersed with reports on art, literature, film, music and theater.
